The Man Who Believed In Evil, Revisited

Or, the magic of transforming hate into passion.

Or, the goose who laid the golden egg and gave it to me.
“Convicts and high leadership people have the same basic personality structure; the only difference being that convicts play the game of life from an anti-social position and high leadership people play their games in socially acceptable ways,” said the man.
With these few words, spoken by psychiatrist, Martin G. Groder, M.D., the course of my life was altered forever more. The time was April, 1980. The place the Washington Hilton Hotel, Washington, D.C.

You would need to be an investigator/super sleuth to connect all the dots. But this I can offer as a clue; every single word on the New Horizons’ Small “Zones of Peace” blog site and this one, mine, personally, that I offer about the dark side originated with what Groder (and, later, myself) figured out about Washington, D.C. and the political game as lived out in that territory.

Marty:
the goose that laid the
golden egg.
Coming soon!  The stories behind the stories, nothing held back.

As soon as I can write it on these two sites and tell on the two new radio shows I am hosting.
Be prepared, this I pledge to you, to discover, with my guidance, the “how” and the “why” of the saga that is the shared journey of Marcia E. Rosen and Marty Groder, containing within it a formula that you, as a citizen of the U.S.A., can draw upon to help transform the dark side of our political landscape, if you choose to use it as an addition to your own wisdom and good sense.

Insight: When I got down to the core of my hatred about my radio show stumbling blocks and re-routed it into passion, with a lot of help from my friends, I remembered something essential about how I learned that transformative process.
It was Groder, the goose, who gave me my original understanding; emotionally, psychologically, transactionally and spiritually, that is the golden egg of how it is done; transforming the dark side. A golden egg meant for all. So join in the feast.

Now with the addition of the two new radio shows that I host, I am about to, piece by piece, share his/our formula with you, if you are into investigating.
Stay tuned in!

Quotable quotes

From a New Horizons’ Board of Directors meeting, February 10, 2013, regarding Anastasia “hating” the Possible Society In Motion radio show.
Words like these evoke a feeling in me that I am with people with whom I can travel long distances through life.)

“….I feel like it’s important to maybe reframe it at some point. … what the gift is in it, of helping you get in touch with the process that you need to stay in touch with the Divine so that the show does stay on track. And it is core to the values of New Horizons. … I think looking at it as what’s the lesson to learn or what is the gift in it, is helpful."

Terry Harris, New Horizons’ Provisional Board Member, 2013

(New Horizons’ Secretary-Treasurer, 1997 – 2003.)   "Old” New Horizons’ Truth or Dare/Discount Derby Community Member, 1992 – 2003.

Still living the New Horizons value system after all these years.

Hatred and Passion: Two Sides of A Coin

The breakthrough!

I thought the learning of new programs and procedures were to be the main challenges to surmount for my becoming a successful radio show host. But that was before “hatred” of my show reared its ugly head last week.
Hatred was a whole new ballgame for me. I had, definitely not anticipated it as any potential stumbling block for me on the way to my doing a successful talk radio show.  Especially not for me, given as I am to  being diligent to transcend even the smallest trace of the various shades and tones of anger; irritation, frustration, resentment, even annoyance.
But there it was – HATRED! Holding tight to the essence of me like a leech-sucking the blood of my being.  Well, given as I am to clearing away emotional debris such as this primitive distraction -- and -- consistently a seeker of clarity, there was naught for me to do but heed this devil maker, facing it head on, intent on effecting its demise as expediently as possible.

My first effort at clearing away this demon energy; this obstacle to my serenity and joy was, of course, a self-reflective scrutinizing. Unable to dispense with it in this solo fashion, next came my admitting to close associates the hold this darkness had on me, seemingly having a life force of its own; attached to me as its host (and I don’t mean in the radio show manner) as a totally unwanted guest.

Still unable to free myself from this vampire entity, last Sunday’s meeting of the New Horizons’ board of directors had me fessing up to its presence as a piece of our meeting agenda. Damn! How embarrassing!
We were called to be discussing New Horizons’ forward development. And, here was I, chairperson of the board and the organization’s executive director, needing to be honest that my own very primitive inner workings were jamming our progress. Damn that was humiliating!

Still in all, the New Horizons’ Board of Directors is a most special and unique governing body. And strange as it was to have an agenda item identified as “Anastasia hates her radio show” (it was, by the way, that specific), they took up the item as seriously as if it had been a budget problem, giving it the attention it truly did warrant. After all, if I’m not the Miss Piggy of New Horizons who else could it be?
This board, as it turns out, manages its business with every bit  of integrity and dedication to the principles that underlie our one initiative, the Small “Zones of Peace” Project, and honors the intent of our second, the Possible Human, Possible Society Study. We uphold the notion that it takes a village to put out a fire, even when that fire is merely the internal fire/passion/hatred of a member.

So, you know what happened after all this?
I think I did a very good show on the Possible Society In Motion Show last Thursday evening (Valentine’s Day, no less) and am on my way to feeling good about my show hosting, believing that this show is, now on its way to building toward the community impact we are intent upon.
Hatred and passion, I came to remember, after the fact, are merely two sides of a coin, called fire energy.

Bring them together and what do you have? The force of creativity!

 Stay tuned for more.

Speaking from the heart

Today, a breath for me.  Also sunshine today in the mountains though we woke to a snow covered ground.

2:00 p.m. and I find myself already prepared for tonight’s Possible Society In Motion Show hours before it is time to go on the air. So it doesn’t take me long to realize how I would most like to fill that empty work-designated time; I want to be back here writing for this blog site.
But what to say? I feel almost stale in my energy track that puts words onto paper.

Then it comes to me. How about my telling you about the two radio show broadcasts I’ve done so far for my Anastasia The Storyteller Radio Show?

·         The story about what I learned from Watergate; and
·         The art of transcendent living.
What is developing for me with that show is the sense that on-air I will be finally able to publicly tell some of the stories in such a manner that my audience can hear and feel the soul of me that vibrates within these stories; stories of mine that are truly the most important to me. And that poignantly speak of what I am most after conveying by my diligence with these sites. Stories I have been unable to share here with my written words.
I have managed, so far, on my Anastasia The Storyteller Show to speak the words. But the sparkle and the magic these stories hold that I have been able to communicate in the serenity of New Horizons retreat center, sharing around our fire circle or gathered together on our deck watching a sunset, don’t yet come through. But they will.  I know me. And, I know my stories and how mine and yours lift up the consciousness of one another when shared.
On the Possible Society In Motion Show I am beginning to find my way to offering my views on community development and peace action.  These are based on theories and philosophies I have been researching and developing throughout my adult life, with the guidance and support of my mentors, Marty Groder, now deceased, and Murat Yagan, alive and well as he nears one hundred years.
These, offered on the Possible Society In Motion Show, are of a very different tone than Anastasia The Storyteller Show, so far. They are conceptual, intertwined with bullet points, helpful how-to hints. These have stories, too, but their intent is to encourage discussion and offer thinking constructs, primarily.
Nonetheless, with the introduction on last week’s show of New Horizons’ Bus Ride Story Adventure, written by Murat and edited by Sue deVeer, my collaborator, I am expecting that, somehow or another, the ethical and spiritual values that naturally become evident as the Bus Ride Story Adventure progresses will speak for themselves; higher consciousness, ethics and community well-being are intrinsically interwoven.
Conversely, my Anastasia The Storyteller Show is not intent on providing helpful hints. No, this show is, instead, my best effort (with hopes for improvement as I learn and develop my talk radio show host talents) to share what I have seen and felt and know to be the highest truths of my heart and mind on a spiritual level, through my emotions and intuitive knowing. And damn if I haven’t taken the time to research it all in order to back these up with hard data! Test me, please!
I’m sharing mine with the hopes you will want to listen to what I have offered so far (albeit not so sparkly yet, but with a lot of meat on the bones) to inspire our sharing perspectives over time.
You can check out what I have to say, of spiritual and practical matters combined at: http://anastasiastoryteller.blogspot.com/ to get our conversations started.
After all, it is through our stories that we are, perhaps, best able to cross the bridges of our minds and hearts together and impact one another at the deepest and the highest levels. This is where real truth abides.
Speaking of hearts, have a beautiful Valentine’s Day.

Anastasia, The Weary Warrior

I am just dropping by for a moment today to say hi.

I am sorry to be so consistently absent from this site. I am dreaming of the day that I will have learned to be a good enough talk radio show host that I won’t have to spend so much time doing the learning.

You are a loyal group of dear blog followers that I miss a lot.
But I am in radio talk show host school regularly now, learning a whole new set of skills; radio talk show stuff, till there’s almost no room, these days for anything else much in my life.

Last week I almost got to hating my shows! (Partially, 'cause I missed y'all so much.)
Women as warriors are
fierce-some, don'tcha
think?

But I’m good again now. And, passionately determined that what New Horizons and I have been striving to bring you is now very much in sight with the addition of this new radio show project.

So please be patient. I am here right now for a moment, thinking of you, my readers and always missing you when I am not around. Writing to communicate regularly with you is one of my great joys. I will be back and better than ever as soon as I can.

In the meantime, please join me on Thursday evening for the Possible Society In Motion Show. If you will call in for the show’s second portion, a conference call-in discussion, we can have all kinds of conversation and hangin’ out time.
Details at this link.

More as soon as I can.
